Remotely Possible enables you to use your Windows Phone to interact with media on your Windows 7 PC.
Download and install Remotely Possible for Windows, following the steps here:
http://validbit.com/RemotelyPossible/builds/v2.htm.
The first time the PC software runs, it may prompt you to install Bonjour for Windows. This is not needed for Windows Phone
7 users (it benefits users of Remotely Possible for iPhone). The software will prompt you to set a password.
This password is used by Remotely Possible running on Windows Phone to connect to your PC, so choose any password you like.
When the software is running, the Remotely Possible icon will appear in the taskbar notification area tray.
The first time you run Remotely Possible you will be prompted to enter computer information.
- "Display Name" can be any name. This is simply a name for your convenience.
- "Computer Name" is the network name of your computer. Note that Remotely Possible for Windows shows your computer name
in the title bar of the application. You may also use your computer's IP address here (suggested if you have problems
connecting by name).
- "Computer Password" is the password that you entered when installed Remotely Possible for Windows.
- "Computer Network Port" should be left as the default of 49173 unless you previously configured an alternate port in
Remotely Possible for Windows.
After touching "done", you'll be taken to the start screen:
Browse your Windows 7 PC's music library, and play that music on your PC.
Browse your Windows 7 PC's recorded tv from Windows Media Center, and play recorded tv on your PC.
Browse your Windows 7 PC's video files, and play the videos on your PC.
